Savannah, 1791. President George Washington visits during first term in office. His old war-time friend, General Lachlan McIntosh, tours Pres. Washington around the field where the Battle of Savannah was fought. The president has one request, "Lachlan, where could one get a man's drink round this place?" The general tapped his coat pocket, smiled and pulled out a pint of Scotch. There was a party planned in Reynolds Square... ninety-six Savannah belles has readied themselves to meet the President... potent Chatham Artillery Punch had been mixed...it was going to be quite the night! |
Present Day,
Savannah. Eight generations later, Billy McIntosh, grand
nephew of General Lachlan McIntosh, tours the city of his
family's history with a tale or two on the local legends,
superstitions and social activities. A drink is refreshed... perhaps another...a good time is had by all...history does repeat itself. |
